How to create a shortcut to close the screen of a laptop

It happened to me a few times that I wanted to to close the laptop screen for a few seconds (objective or subjective reasons, security or vanity: P). But laptop screen can not be closed "on the button" as with a regular monitor (like the one for PC). Exist option of the set to close after a certain amount of minutes, but this option has two edges: if you set a short time interval (a few seconds) it can become irritating, if you set a long time interval (a few minutes - half an hour) it does not help you at all, especially in if you need to turn off the monitor immediately, and you can't wait either macar 1 min. But if you could create one shortcut which would allow you to close the monitor immediately without having to wait seconds or minutes or, especially, no need to close your laptop altogether (as in extreme cases: D)? Surely, you would save a lot of hassle. :)

For To create a shortcut to help you close the laptop monitor fast, Whenever you want, first you need a little application, Mark NirSoftWhich, among other things, include this option (ie why to close the monitor).

Download nircmd.exe.

After you download the application, go to Desktop and give Right-click anywhere and create a New Shortcut.

Then navigate to the location where you saved the application nircmd.exe and add the following:

“C: [location] nircmd.exe” cmdwait 1000 monitor off

where [Location] is, in my case, UsersStealth Settingsnothing, 1000 = 1 sec. and quotes are required!

After you have created the shortcut, choose the one icon (Preferably one that will attract attention: P):

change_icon

Et voila! Now you have a shortcut that allows you to turn off the monitor when you want, without being forced to wait. ;)
