WOT combine experience and user rating its (only ratings of confidence are marked) with sources independent rating of these (list of sites containing hazardous), now ~ 21 million websites being "tagged" on these grounds. Fits ok in most search engine and has "friendly relations" with Firefox / Flock si Internet Explorer.
Overall, WOT brings something new in this field of Internet security and parental control and, despite the fact that it is just a simple extension for Firefox or Internet Explorer, it does a great job. It can be improved and hopefully it will be.
