How to recover certain files from an OS backup image (Vista & 7)

Starting with Windows Vista, protection default a Operating Systems allows automatic creation of backups (Called restore points or restore points) Whenever major changes are made registry or system filesSo that, if errors occur, the system can be repaired easily with a backup so (the system is restored to the previous state registry modification / file system that caused the error / errors). Another backup option besides system restore point is creating an image of the operating system, With which, in case of major problems or even irreparable thereof, the system can be restored completely (including applications that were installed when creating image) without the need for additional methods of repair or reinstallation. But if we do not need full system recovery but its only a few files that for some reason or another, have come to not work properly?
