dwm.exe or Desktop Windows Manager is a process system belonging where MicrosoftIncluded in the last two operating systems created by it (Windows Vista si Windows 7).
Desktop Windows Manager is responsible for graphic effects in Vista and 7 (3D effects, transparency, Live preview - thumbnails). Aero consume enough resources, leading to decreased PC performance with a weaker configuration. In this case we recommend disabling dwm.exe process for increased performance (Control Panel -> Services -> Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager -> right-click Properties -> Startup type: Disabled).
Location legitimate dwm.exe process is C: |Windows\System 32. If you find this process wherever another location, make an urgent full system scan because it could be virus, trojan or spyware!
