Artificial intelligence models are developing at an incredible speed, which we could not imagine 3-4 years ago. Recently, OpenAI officially revealed GPT-4.5, the newest version of the model that underlies ChatGPT, considered to be the fastest and most efficient released to date. Although GPT-4.5 impresses with increased accuracy and improved emotional intelligence, OpenAI promises that this is not its most advanced model yet. Instead, the company continues to develop other solutions, such as the o3 reasoning model, which remains the spearhead of its technology.

What's new GPT-4.5
The new model comes as an update to its predecessor, GPT-4oh, and it promises a more natural and conversational experience for users. In other words, a language that's a little closer to human than the previous model. OpenAI states that the new version GPT-4.5 significantly reduces “hallucinations” (those erroneous or invented responses that artificial intelligence models can sometimes generate) and improves accuracy in information processing. In addition, GPT-4.5 is more succinct and able to invite users to continue the conversation, instead of just providing detailed and exhaustive answers.
One aspect that stands out, which I also mentioned in the introduction, is the superior emotional intelligence of the model. Unlike previous versions of ChatGPT, GPT-4.5 seems to be closer to the conversational style of other chatbots like Anthropic's Claude, which has been praised for its more natural and empathetic responses.
How you can access GPT-4.5
The new version is already available, but not for all users. GPT-4.5 is available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, who pay $200 per month for access to the highest level of technology OpenAIStarting next week, the model will be extended to ChatGPT Plus users ($20 per month) and Team subscribers, and will later reach users in the following categories: Enterprise and Edu. This gradual rollout reflects the strategy OpenAI to test and refine the model in real time, based on the feedback received.
So, if you don't have a ChatGPT Pro subscription, in the first part of March 2025 you will have access to the new version GPT-4.5 with ChatGPT Plus subscription.
The step towards the future language GPT-5
The multitude of models and names that OpenAI chose them for his models creates quite a bit of confusion among users, and GPT-4.5 does not solve this problem. With the release of GPT-5, a version expected towards the end of this year, OpenAI will solve this problem. The upcoming model, GPT-5, will unify the fast chat requirements with the more complex reasoning needs, eliminating the need to switch between different models. Until then, GPT-4.5 is presented as a research preview, intended to replace GPT-4and provide an improved experience.
