T-Mobile users in the United States can enjoy free Starlink connectivity until July of this year on iPhone, through Elon Musk's satellite network.
T-Mobile has announced the public beta launch of its Starlink satellite communications feature, allowing anyone in the United States to test it.
This trial period will be free until July, giving users plenty of time to experience the new service. This feature will allow device owners iPhone compatible to use satellite connection services even in areas without traditional cellular signal.
This service should not be confused with Starlink's, which allows users to have an internet connection from anywhere, even in areas without 4G/5G signal. It is Direct-to-Cell technology, which currently only allows for sending text messages.
“T-Mobile Starlink uses specially configured satellites equipped with Direct-to-Cell technology, orbiting at an altitude of over 320 miles and traveling at over 27.000 miles per hour. They transmit cellular signals – currently for text messaging, with picture messaging, data, and voice calls to be available later – to and from locations where cell towers do not have coverage (so-called dead zones).”
This beta program, Starlink on iPhone, launched by T-Mobile, is available to subscribers of the Go5G Next plan (including variants such as Go5G Next 55+), as well as to business customers using Go5G Business Next. In addition, those who sign up during the trial period can benefit from a $10/month discount per line, which is a savings of 33% compared to the full price. However, to take advantage of this offer, you must sign up by the end of February.
