Microsoft recently launched Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27823 for users in the Canary channel, a version that focuses primarily on correcting issues from previous versions and improving the overall user experience. Even though we expected a few new features to be tested on this update channel, it seems that they will appear from the summer.

Although we don't have any spectacular news, the update Windows 11 Build 27823 introduces an interesting feature in the form of informative cards in the Settings > System > About section. These “top cards” quickly display the most important specifications of your PC – processor, RAM, storage and GPU. This provides faster access to information regarding your computer’s hardware capabilities.
What's new in Build 27823?
As I said earlier, this release includes a small but useful set of improvements and fixes aimed at refining the experience for users testing buildon their PCs. From increased stability to minor tweaks, Microsoft continues to work on optimizing the system, and it does it very well. I tested this new build 27823 and I can say that it runs above expectations for a Canary version.
Top Cards in Settings
One of the most noticeable additions is the “top cards” in the system’s “About” menu. They’re designed to provide an overview of the PC’s key components, making them especially useful for users who want to quickly assess their device’s performance or identify potential areas for improvement. At the moment, this feature is only available on certain types of PCs, such as desktopthe systems, even those with Windows 11 installed virtually (as is the case in my case).

In addition to this new feature, Microsoft has also resolved a series of problems and bugs present in previous versions:
File Explorer: Fixed an issue that caused File Explorer to appear blank when accessed via ALT + Tab from the minimized state. Support for text scaling has also been improved, increasing accessibility.
entry: Fixed a crash of ctfmon.exe when copying content from certain applications and an error related to the GetRawInputData function.
Settings: Fixed crashes caused by interaction with the Bluetooth and Devices > Cameras sections, as well as other display issues.
Print: Non-admin users can now uninstall printers they added, a feature that previously did not work properly.
Other: Fixed issues with app installation and bugchecks with the message UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR
when updating.
Known issues in Build 27823
Like any build from the Canary channel, and this version comes with a few drawbacks. For example, Copilot+ PC users who upgrade to Canary may experience issues with Windows Hello (PIN and biometrics), requiring them to be reconfigured. There is also a visual error in the quick updates toggle in Settings > Windows Update, which is to be corrected in the future update.
