XP SP2 Error: Missing ATL.DLL

Even if it succeeded to become the most longevity even used Windows OS, XPCPC is also famous by errors provided, predictable or not. If certain errors occur so often, but do not involve a lot of hassle, well are others more expensive spot but most often lead to format / reinstall.

A similar error I disrupted the peace PCSite a while ago when I installed some updates to XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). After the restart, most of the programs gave me an error saying that the system file atl.dll is missing from it + some other strange errors, foreign entourage of the spins me before. About System Restore It could not be because and he had apparently pushed back the same file atl.dll.

The solution I found it in %system%/Windows/System32 / dllcache, where %system% this partition you have installed XP (walk carefully in that folder, otherwise formatting becomes inevitable). Copy atl.dll in that folder (not use the Cut, Will complicate the problem) and give them paste in %system%/Windows/System32. Then go to Start Menu->Run Start with a Command Prompt. Type regsrv32.exe atl.dll and give Enter. Restart the PC and everything will return to normal. :)
